Kindergarten rocks!!!! :D
Welcome to your first year at Calvary Christian School. I am so excited to have the privilege of serving the Lord and you as your students kindergarten teacher! This is my 9th year teaching kindergarten. Kindergarten is a time of fun, friendships, and foundations. Children at this age have a short attention span and learn best through movement and play. There is plenty of both in our classroom as the children learn how to become a student, thus enabling them to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and physically.
“And Jesus grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him.” Luke 2:40
My prayer for the children is that they too will grow as Jesus did, becoming strong in spirit; filled with wisdom; and that God’s grace will shine upon them so that they may be a light to the dark world and glorify their Father in heaven!
In kindergarten the children will first learn classroom habits and procedures; how to listen, follow directions, and share. Learning how to become a student will lay the foundation for them to be able to thrive in all other areas of learning! They will learn that letters “talk” and work together to form words! They will be able to read by the end of kindergarten! They will learn their numbers up to 100, be able to tell time, recognize and count coins, complete simple addition and subtraction problems. They will learn to write the letters and use written language to express themselves. They will explore the world around them, their families, communities, and holiday traditions. Most importantly though, they will hear stories of Jesus, memorize Bible verses, and spend time just worshipping and getting to know the living God who adores them soooo much! :D
This is going to be a spectacular year! “The joy of the Lord is our strength!” Ne. 8:10.
Our kindergarten motto is, “We do not say, ‘I can’t do it!’ We say, ‘I will try my best!’” Our class verse is: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” Phillipians 4:13
