Mr. R. Barger

Although my major in college was English, a subject which I have a deep love and respect for, my true passion has been in choral music. In fact, I began singing in choir during my 8th grade year, being involved in this art throughout high school and into college. When given the opportunity to begin a choral group here at Calvary Christian ten year ago, my heart’s prayer was answered with resounding support by staff and students alike.

The last ten years have witnessed the Calvary Christian School Choir receive “honors” status from ACSI Musicale’s yearly event. There also have been mission trips to Germany, Hungary, Russia, England, and France, culminating in our choir sharing God’s Word through music by performing at Paris’s famed Notre Dame. Our group continues to perform and compete throughout California.

With a degree in English, and with over 20 years of experience in teaching this subject to middle/high school students, it is a great privilege to be part of our Language Arts program. In my view, the importance of teaching our students correct communication skills is vitally important to their future success and the opportunities that open up for them. Scripture encourages us to always seek knowledge through our Lord, and a proper understanding of our English language is a wonderful way to accomplish this.

Being part of this school’s administration for the past two decades has given me the opportunity to develop many friendships within our student body. I am blessed to see the young children of our former students now attending our school. There is a reason for this. When God’s principles and expectations are honestly taught, there is a family of believers which develops in that realm, and the blessings of our Heavenly Father are poured forth. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with students, parents, and staff, and look forward to a be part of the mission field which is Calvary Christian School.

In Christ, Ron Barger
